The exact wording of the gun ban in the Senate approved version is not available at this time. Earlier this week Texas Representative Jack Brooks put forward a version of the crime bill which does NOT contain a gun ban. Unfortunately, as of 3:00pm today the House Conferees approved an amendment from anti-gunner Charles Schumer to include a version of his gun ban (which does NOT include the record keeping requirements of HR4296 as passed by the House in May) in the House version of the crime bill. NRA continues to urge its members to contact their Representatives and Senators and URGE THEM TO OPPOSE ANY CRIME BILL WHICH CONTAINS ANY TYPE OF GUN BAN!
