Tomorrow there will be a vote to waive the "Budget Point of Order". This vote will be brought up because of the way parts of the Clinton Crime Bill passed by the House yesterday are funded. Senate rules require that these funding measures be approved by the Senate Finance Committee. In order get around this a vote must be taken to waive the Budget Point of Order before the Clinton Crime Bill can move forward. IMPORTANT! WAIVING THE BUDGET POINT OF ORDER REQUIRES 60 VOTES! IF IT FAILS, THE CLINTON CRIME BILL GOES BACK TO CONFERENCE COMMITTEE! This means that we can stop this legislation if we can get 41 Senators to vote against waiving the Budget Point of Order.
