                    GUN BILLS MOVING IN STATE SENATE

Today was a GOOD day for gun rights.  The following bills were voted
down or died procedural deaths:

 SB 1275 (Hart) - Would require a license from the Department of
                  Justice to purchase a handgun.

 SB 1276 (Hart) - Would require a license from the Department of
                  Justice to purchase ammunition.

 SB 1277 (Hart) - Would prohibit anyone but a peace officer from
                  purchasing more than one handgun in a 30-day
                  period (PASSED on file).

 SB 1294 (Hayden) - Would increase the penalty for illegally carrying
                    a concealed weapon.



SB X46 (Roberti), the state version of the Feinstein gun ban, FAILED
by a vote of 19 (YES) - 17 (NO) - 4 (NO VOTE).  The bill has been
granted reconsideration, so they may bring it up for a vote again in
the coming weeks.
