It is from Harriet Bernard, Admissions Counselor for the Penobscot Job Corps Center. "Job Corps is planning to be part of the Miane State Parade. Our float is timely, reinforcing our policy of 'Zero Tolerance for Violence.' Chilren would bring toy guns to the parade to be exchanged for a book which will be given out by Job Corps students. We feel by making children more aware that guns of any kind promote violence, maybe we can turn things around for the future. We want children to have a safe live at home, in school, and in public. Let's keep Maine a safe place to live, work and play. Let's band together and teach our children that guns have no place in our lives, even though they are toy ones. Please attend the parade, enjoy the floats and have your child exchange that toy gun for a book." The addres and phone number is: Penobscot Job Corps Center 95A Lisbon Street Lewiston, ME 04243 (207) 777-7414 As a side note, my wife presented me with an early anniversary gift today, a Springfield 1911A1.
