The NRA Members' Council of Fairfield/Suisun will host a public Eddie Eagle presentation on Monday, June 19, 1995 at the Fairfield Senior Center. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Senior Center is located at 1000 Kentucky Street, Fairfield, California. This event is the final product of many months working with local officals, schools, community groups, and parents in the community. The Fairfield Chief of Police (Doug Milender) has been VERY supportive of our efforts since day-one. Parents throughout Solano County have been invited to attend this special presentation, to see first-hand what the Eddie Eagle program is all about. These parents have been encouraged to bring their children to participate in this evening program, and to witness the enthusiastic response that is sure to occur. Local newspapers have been notified (Benicia Times-Herald, Fairfield Daily Republic, Vacaville Reporter, and Vallejo Times-Herald), and we have confirmations from two papers, that they will cover the event. All City Council members from cities within Solano County (Dixon, Benicia, Rio Vista, Fairfield, Vacaville, Suisun, and Vallejo) have been invited. Solano County Board of Supervisors and all School Board personel have been invited as well. While we hope to offer this course to any groups or individuals who may wish to see the Eddie Eagle program in action, our main goal is to gain support from these elected officals, and to see the Eddie Eagle program become part of the school curriculum and local city programs.
