Subject: ALERT: CA - Three Pro-Second Amendment Bill Hearings Late March-April

California:

       Three important pro-Second Amendment reform bills that have
currently been set for committee hearings in late March and mid-
April:

AB 132 (Battin) would clear up some definitional problems with the
Roberti-Roos Assault Weapon Control Act.  It would also delete the
following rifles from the ban list: SIG PE-57; SIG 550; SIG 551;
Valmet M-78S; and HK PSG-1.  The bill is scheduled to be heard on
Tuesday, March 21 in the Assembly Public Safety Committee.  Call
the committee members listed below and urge them to support this
measure.

AB 638 (Knight) would give California a Florida-style right to
carry law.  It will be heard by the Assembly Public Safety
Committee on Tuesday, April 18.  Call the committee members listed
below and urge them to support this measure.

SB 670 (Lewis) would cap the dealer record of sale (DROS) fee at
$14 and require an audit of the Department of Justice's DROS
account to verify that those monies are not being diverted for
unauthorized uses.  It will be heard by the Senate Criminal
Procedure Committee on Tuesday, March 28.  Call the committee
members listed below and urge them to support this measure.
