Presley (916) 445-9781 Mello (916) 445-5843 Kelley (916) 445-5581 Leonard (916) 445-3688 Beverly (916) 445-6447 The next vote will be by the full Senate. As amended the bill does the following: * Prohibit persons between the ages of 18 and 21 who do not live with their parents, or if their parents are not home, from possessing a concealable firearm. Since tens of thousands of people in this age group already possess concealable firearms, they would have to dispose of them or become a criminal. * Requires that all firearms be secured in a safe or by cable/chain to the residence. If your gun(s) were stolen and weren't properly secured, you would be subject to a $500 fine. That's right, you will be punished if a criminal steals your firearm. It is essential that you contact your Senator IMMEDIATELY and urge a NO vote on SB 1896.
