Roberti's version of the proposed federal gun ban, Senate Bill X46, was voted out of the Assembly Public Safety Committee on a 4-3 vote. It now goes to the Assembly Ways & Means Committee for consideration. Sen. Hayden's SB 822, prohibiting law enforcement authorities from selling seized firearms, may be up for reconsideration either today or tomorrow by the Assembly Ways and Means Committee. AB X24 (imposing taxes on firearms and ammunition), AB X120 & AB X121 (gun buy-back programs) were pulled off the Assembly Ways and Means Committee file. All three bills failed on their first vote in July, but had been granted reconsideration.
