This bill will likely be considered by the full House and Senate NEXT WEEK! Therefore it is important that every gun owner contact their Representative and both Senators and urges them to oppose any crime bill which contains a gun ban. Please get the word out that our Representatives need to hear our opposition to this legislation, and we need to especially reach out to our Senators and tell them we want them to support a filibuster of this bill! July 28, 1994, 12:00 pm Update: Opponents of the gun ban are preparing to mount a filibuster of the crime bill once it is reported out of the Conference Committee. PLEASE BE SURE TO TELL YOUR SENATORS TO SUPPORT A FILIBUSTER OF ANY CRIME BILL WHICH CONTAINS A GUN BAN! Urgent Alert -- Conference Committee Passes Gun Ban Early in the morning of July 28, House conferees agreed to include a federal gun ban in the conference crime bill. While the bill language is not yet available, it appears to be little different from the House-passed H.R. 4296, minus the record-keeping requirement for transfers of banned guns. This fight is not over, as opposition to the crime bill is mounting -- even in anti-gun newspapers like the New York Times. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE AND BOTH SENATORS and urge them to oppose both the rule and the bill itself. The conference committee is expected to adjourn today, so a vote on the rule and the crime bill could occur within the next few days. Act now!
