The Legislature takes an Easter break between March 24 and April 3. We expect the SB 1128 vote to be on April 4. It appears that Roberti is trying to link the recall issue with SB 1128. At this point, there are no amendments for SB 1128; however, Roberti and Lungren are working together on SB X37 which is a bill that would prohibit convicted felons from owning magazines, ammunition, etc. It's possible that SB X37 could be THE amendment to SB 1128. We cannot explain why Lungren and Roberti continue to be such a "tight" team. AB X37 (WILLIE BROWN AND JOHN BURTON) This is one of the state preemption repeal/modification bills. AB X37 would allow local jurisdictions to ban semiautomatic firearms. It was approved by the Public Safety Committee. We expect some law enforcement groups to join us in opposition. ====================================================================== -- ************************************************************ * Ron Phillips crphilli@hound.edaca.ingr.com * * Senior Customer Engineer * * Intergraph Electronics * * 381 East Evelyn Avenue VOICE: (415) 691-6473 * * Mountain View, CA 94041 FAX: (415) 691-0350 * ************************************************************
