Keep them cards 'n letters (and phones and faxes) going. We defeated some bad legislation, so far, but we did allow some to slip through one house into the other. Things are going to be rather quite for a little while, but it will heat up again soon enough. ************************************** I was a day late with this alert last week. Thanks to all of you who called with concerns about my well-being. It is nice to hear from you. ************************************** I went up to see friends who have a pistol range in their front yard and got politically incorrect for a couple of days this past week. The only thing bad about shooting a little black powder is that it takes so long to clean up afterwards. Might as well burn a _lot_ of charcoal once you've fired that first shot. So I did. (D.Q., your pistol is ready.) ************************************** The WACO hearings are in full swing, and many details are coming out which you did not hear from the media. NRA has a fax hot line going. Call (703) 267-3734 with your fax machine and follow the instructions to get a daily synopsis of the hearings. The Federal News Service is offering daily transcripts of the hearings to NRA members for $9.95 per day. Call Jack Graeme at (800) 969-3677 and identify yourself as an NRA member. Have your NRA number handy and a credit card. ************************************** I've been trying to write up the WACO hearings for Armed and Safe on the other computer, but, every time I have to type "Schumer", the keyboard leaves out the "h". It has to be the computer's fault. ************************************** The portions of the following which appear in parentheses are my comments. My comments will always end with -ecr. ************************************** Those of you reading this on internet in rec.guns can tune in to talk.politics.guns (t.p.g.) to get the following California bill information.
