The NRA Members' Council of Fairfield/Suisun recently completed a sign-posting project. After coordinating with our local Chamber of Commerce in Fairfield, California, we received permission to place an NRA sign on the large billboards at the entrances to the cities of Fairfield and Suisun. These large Chamber of Commerce billboards list organizations such as the Lions Club, Moose Lodge, IOOF, and other groups who are active in the community. We have now joined the ranks of other groups in the community by placing the official NRA Logo at the entrance to the two main cities which we serve, essentially marking our territory and informing all who may travel through our area that the NRA is alive and well in our community. These large signs (20"+) are very colorful, made of metal, and have a weather resistant coating to protect the signs from the elements. Our signs came pre-drilled. We purchased long bolts and lock-nuts from the local hardware store, and our signs were up in no time at all. This was an easy and fun project to do. Several members in our group volunteered to "sponsor" each sign by donating money for the purchase. Other members established contact with the local Chamber of Commerce, and another group was actually responsible for attaching the signs to the billboard. If you are traveling west-bound on Hwy 12 between Rio Vista and Suisun, the Chamber of Commerce sign is located just prior to the first housing developement in Suisun. Traveling south on Hwy 80 between Sacramento and San Francisco, take the North Texas Street exit in Fairfield and look for the Chamber of Commerce sign in front of the first set of apartments on the right-hand side of the road.
