Date: 11 Mar 1995 16:13:34 -0800 From: "Johann Opitz" Subject: RKBA Rally & Libertarians To: "CA Liberty" Cc: "CA LP" For those libertarians and state/county parties interested in being involved in the upcoming 1995 2nd Amendment Rally in Sacramento on July 1st at the State Capital -- the Rally Committee needs your help *now* by doing the normal grassroots activities, including the following activities: Create and distribute your own flyers -- or copy the 1995 2nd Amendment Rally Committee's flyers -- at any LP (or other type of) meetings and functions. (A Web Site is currently being established and those not on Internet or don't have Web access can get on a snail-mail list; email/address/phone/fax below.) Write a story about the people who are involved in organizing the Rally and submit to LP (or other type of) news media. Copy the 1995 2nd Amendment Rally Committee's news releases and submit to all local news media and broadcast stations. Get free *Public Service* announcements made on all local broadcast stations. (News releases will also be on the Web site.) Place an advertisement in any and all LP (or other type of) news media. Mention the rally on any and all television or talk radio shows. Establish local area coordinators to help disseminate information to other interested organizations and individuals; including gun clubs, ranges, and stores. If the local area interest warrants it, arrange for chartered bus transportation to/from the rally. (This worked very well last year and it's environmentally PC! ) Promote the Rally through other electronic mailing lists you have access to. Promote, promote, promote! Those interested in setting up a booth at the rally should contact Cristina Yu (email/phone/fax below). {As the rally gets further organized, there will be the need for volunteers to help with security, first aid, and other functions -- before, at, and after the rally -- which makes a good rally into a great rally. Last year's rally was *great* and both the Capitol Police and the state capitol civil servants that approve/supervise rallies at the State Capitol were extremely pleased and welcomed us to come back.
