Grassroots individuals and groups from across the state have joined with the 1995 2nd Amendment Rally Committee to accomplish the many tasks associated with creating this event. There have been volunteers who attended the many guns shows throughout the state, distributing flyers to gun show dealers and individuals attending these shows. Gun show promoters have allowed us to pass out flyers, and several have even donated tables for us to utilize. Please help us spread the word at a local gun show near you. Several guest speakers have already been confirmed, and we are in the process of contacting other individuals who will convey a strong 2nd Amendment message to the people who attend our Rally. Please contact Peter Kasler at 707-939-0303 or at tmi@crl.com if you wish to be a guest speaker or if you have other speaker suggestions. We are currently creating an updated flyer (which will be mailed out in April). This flyer will be mailed to gun stores, gun clubs, gun ranges, NRA Members Councils, firearms wholesalers and distributors, state and national firearms groups, and to the many people who have requested information via our message center or via email. Many groups are creating their own unique flyers for distribution in their local area. Many individuals have recently donated to help defray the costs associated with putting on an event such as this. Postage and copying are our heaviest expenses at the moment. By July 1st, we will must pay in full for: all copying, postage for 4 mass mailings to 3,500+ people throughout the state, chemical toilets, P.A. system, permits for charter bus parking, first aid supplies, tent and canopy rental, informational flyers for handing out at the Rally, and many other smaller expenses. If you wish to donate to support the 1995 2nd Amendment Rally in Sacramento, CA, please mail to the address listed below. Catering has been coordinated with a local Sacramento businessman. Mr. Mom's Catering will provide 3 catering trucks and one trailer with additional supplies. This local businessman supported us last year, and will contribute 10% of his procedes to help offset expenses and support further grassroots activities in California. Brian Cooley, a San Francisco radio newsman, is returning this year to serve as our Master of Ceremonies. Brian did a fantastic job last year, and we look forward to his return for the 1995 Rally. Jeff Thomas is in the process of creating a Web site for the distribution of Rally related information to the Internet. This site will contain pictures of the 1994 Rally, Charter Bus information, Airline information, AMTRAK information, flyers for downloading, list of guest speakers, and much more information. For information regarding the Web site, contact Jeff Thomas at jeff@jeff.com Dudley Owens will return as our Rally Photographer. Dudley is the owner of Creative Photographics in Vacaville, CA, and he has been a constant supporter of local grassroots activities. He has printed many pictures of the 1994 Rally for us to sell, as well as black and white photos which will be utlized for press releases to various newspapers and magazines. Johann Opitz is busy contacting many groups who are connected to the Internet and support the Right to keep and bear arms. He is is also responsible for posting Rally Updates to appropriate newsgroups which should receive Rally information and updates. We have already coordinated 8 Charter Buses from throughout the state, and several groups and individuals are about to join in this effort from their community. If you are willing to charter a bus, please contact me ASAP. Buses confirmed so far: MODESTO (phone number to be announced) SAN FRANCISCO PENNINSULA Jim Huber 415-851-2473 SAN JOSE Masako Young 408-243-8760 SAN LUIS OBISPO Erik DeJong 805-434-3126 SANTA ROSA John Speicher 707-857-3245 SOLANO COUNTY Peter Nesbitt 707-429-2871 UKIAH (2 buses) Jim Tsarnas 707-462-9741 Members from the NRA Members' Council of Fairfield/Suisun recently completed a six week video training course which allows them to access all equipment at the local cable public access facility. These members are now in the process of creating a promotional video tape using footage from the 1994 Rally. They will also utilize video recording equipment to document the 1995 Rally in Sacramento. An NRA Member in Woodland, CA, will provide us with tables and partitions which will be used for first-aid station, communications center, command post, booths, and other related uses. This same businessman recently donated a copy machine to help offset printing costs. Cristina Yu has been busy contacting the many grassroots groups who attended the 1994 Rally, NRA Members' Councils, and other grassroots groups who support our Right to keep and bear arms. Last year we had 30+ booths from organizations throughout the state. These groups will be invited to set-up a booth at the 1995 Rally. Contact Cristina at 510-795-6890. A local NRA member in Vacaville has agreed to operate a banner-tow. He will donate his time and his aircraft for us to tow an aerial banner over the skies of the Sacramento Capitol. All that we need to do is provide funding for fuel and the rental of the acutal banner. Mr. Mahoney returns this year to sell the official Rally T- Shirt, and will provide us with a percentage of his profits to support the 1995 Rally expenses and to promote further grassroots activity in California. One area where help is needed, is in locating an individual or group who will provide a sound system for us to use. The contact for the 1994 Rally has since moved, and we need a hand with this project. If you know of anyone in the Sacramento area who has a system powerful enough to handle 10,000 people at the State Capitol, please have them contact the Rally Committee. As you can see, much effort is being put forward to promote and organize another successful Rally for 1995. Anti-gun bills may have slowed with the recent November elections, but the anti- gun forces in California and throughout the nation will not stop until we are completely disarmed. Get involved with an NRA Members' Council in your area, get gun owners off the gun-range and into the office of their elected officials, help us promote the 1995 2nd Amendment Rally in Sacramento on July 1, and help us send a message to our Local, State, and Federal Government: WE CLEANED HOUSE IN NOVEMBER, NOW IT'S TIME TO CLEAN OUT THE BASEMENT AND THE ATTIC! My thanks goes out to each and every one of you who has assisted with our efforts. This is a grassroots effort, and you are to be commended for your efforts.
